FIX: Newly added articles' snapshot doesn't get applied to subscriber in SQL Server 2016

Assume that you haveconfigured Transaction replication with immediate_sync=false on a highlytransactional database. Now, you add a new table to the publication. You willnotice that distribution agent doesn't apply creation commands related to newlyadded table on the subscriber.


Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

To work around this issue, you can do the following:
  • To make sure that this issue doesn'toccur in future – change the immediate_sync to true.
  • Stop log reader agent before addingthe article, and restart log reader agent after new snapshot is generated.
  • Stop distribution agent before adding thearticle, and restart distribution agent after new snapshot is generated.
