Advisory Services Solution Areas for MSMQ
Advisory Services is a remotely delivered, hourly fee based, consultative support option that provides a more comprehensive result beyond your break-fix product maintenance needs. This support option includes working with the same technician for assistance with issues like product migration, reviewing code, or developing a new program. This service is usually used for shorter engagements, designed for developers and IT professionals who do not require the traditional on-site consulting or sustained account management services that are available from other Microsoft support options.
Microsoft Advisory Services can be accessed by dialing (800) 936-5200 in the United States and Canada only.
The MSMQ Setup and Configuration provides an overview of MSMQ, including answers to any general setup questions and providing an understanding of the product. An MSMQ engineer can guide you through the process while explaining interactions between the surrounding technologies and MSMQ.
Topics will range from one to all of the following:
This offering includes support on the strategy and ways to migrate from MSMQ 1.0 in an NT4 environment to a Windows 2000 environment. When you move to MSMQ 2.0 or above, the routing and configuration infrastructure for Message Queuing must operate in a mixed mode, where some of the servers have already been updated to a newer version of MSMQ while other servers are still running MSMQ 1.0.
This offering covers the following:
There is a wealth of MSMQ code samples already available for developers. Developers should be sure to check MSDN for the most up-to-date samples available. MSMQ Engineers will provide code samples to Advisory Services customers ‘as is’ upon request. Most samples will be available in Visual Basic, C/C++ or C# (c sharp).
The clustering support offering includes assistance with setup and configuration of MSMQ on an existing cluster. This offering does not include setup and configuration of cluster services and/or SQL Server.
Tuning & Troubleshooting
Tuning and Troubleshooting is aimed at providing MSMQ support engineers with the tools and skills required to diagnose most MSMQ setup and configuration errors.
Integration and Planning
The integration and planning offering is intended to provide managers and IS engineers the information they need to properly setup their environments to adopt MSMQ as an asynchronous messaging infrastructure.
