Taskbar Auto Hide Option Behavior Varies

Summary

When you have the Auto Hide option for the taskbar enabled, the taskbar may scroll smoothly on and off the screen. On other computers, the taskbar may appear and disappear abruptly.

More Information

This behavior is by design. The smooth scrolling feature is a visual enhancement included with Windows NT 4.0 and Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95.

Windows 95

To install and enable this enhancement in Windows 95, follow these steps:
  1. If Microsoft Plus! is installed, skip to step 2. If Microsoft Plus! is not yet installed, install it now.

    1. In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
