With the right tweaks, your lock screen can be the perfect combo of personality and productivity.
On Start , swipe over to the All apps list, and then select Settings > Personalization > Lock screen. Then add a personal picture as your lock screen background, or let Bing surprise you with a beautiful new image every day.
Choose any combination of detailed and quick status notifications to show you missed calls, upcoming appointments, social network updates, and other app and system notifications.
Turn on Glance screen to see those notifications and check the time without having to press the power button. On Start , swipe over to the All apps list, and then select Settings > Personalization > Glance screen. Turn on Show Glance screen when your screen is turned off.
Change how long you want Glance screen to show when your phone's not charging, or turn on night mode to dim the Glance screen during a set time range.
After you've made your lock screen perfect, you might also want to set up a PIN (password) so that no one can get to your stuff if you lose your phone or it's stolen. For more info about lock screen passwords, see Lock screen FAQ.
