Wherever you see a search icon on your Windows 10 Mobile device, select it to search for help, apps, files, or settings.

To search the web, select the Search button , and then type your search in the search box.

Need help finding an app? On Start

, swipe over to the All apps list, and then in the search box type the partial or full name of an app you have installed on your phone, and your phone will find it.

To find an app you don't have installed, type in your search, and then select Search Store below the "No results found…" message. You'll get results for apps and games on the Store that match your search, as well as relevant music, movies, and TV shows.

Search for files

To find a file on your phone, search using File Explorer. On Start

, swipe over to the All apps list, and then select File Explorer. Select Menu , select either Recent or This Device to search recent files or files across your entire device, and then type your search in the search box.

Search for settings

To find a setting or settings menu on your phone, on Start

Start symbol
, swipe over to the All apps list, and then select Settings . Select Find a setting, type the partial or full name of a settings menu, and you'll see all the results that match your search. For example, type "lock" to find lock screen, or type "mode" to find airplane mode and driving mode.
