On Windows 7 and Vista, when you change the default desktop colors, and you launch a DirectX application that runs full screen, the custom desktop colors may reset back to default settings after you exit the application

Consider the following scenario:

o   On Windows 7 and Vista, adjust the default desktop colors (for example, increase the brightness values to maximum).  This will change the brightness values on the desktop.
o   Launch a DirectX application that will run full screen.
o   Exit the application.

When you return to the desktop, the desktop colors may have reset back to default settings.

Certain applications may alter settings for desktop colors.  When you exit the full screen application, the custom color values you set previously are reset back to the default values until you restart the system.

Manually alter the default desktop colors after you exit the application.

The custom desktop colors will revert back to the custom settings after a reboot.
