This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics NAV for the following countries and language locales.

  • French (Switzerland) (fr-ch)

  • German (Switzerland) (de-ch)

  • Italian (Switzerland) (it-ch)

Symptoms

In the Swiss version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1, when you create a DTA file by using the RoleTailored client, the backup copy of the DTA file is not created. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

The backup copy of the DTA file could not be written. Please check filename and folder in the DTA setup for bank [bank_code].

Note In the error message, the [bank_code] placeholder represents an actual bank code.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Dynamics NAV service pack or the next version that contains this hotfix.

Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Technical Support Professional for Microsoft Dynamics and related products determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.

Code changes

Note Always test code fixes in a controlled environment before you apply the fixes to your production computers.

To install this hotfix, change the code in the following objects:

  • The DTA File report (3010541)

  • The EZAG File report (3010542)

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Change the code in the Report - OnPostReport trigger in the DTA File report (3010541) as follows:
    Existing code 1

    ELSE
    //DtaMgt.RemoveCrLf(FileBank."DTA File Folder" + FileBank."DTA Filename");
    GeneralMgt.RemoveCrLf(FileBank."DTA File Folder" + FileBank."DTA Filename", 'DTA', FALSE);

    // Backup file
    IF FileBank."Backup Copy" THEN BEGIN
    FileBank.LOCKTABLE;
    FileBank."Last Backup No." := INCSTR(FileBank."Last Backup No.");
    FileBank.MODIFY;
    BackupFilename := FileBank."Backup Folder" + 'DTA' + FileBank."Last Backup No." + '.BAK';
    IF NOT COPY(FileBank."DTA File Folder" + FileBank."DTA Filename",BackupFilename) THEN // Delete this line.
    MESSAGE(Text002 + Text003,FileBank."Bank Code"); // Delete this line.
    END;

    Replacement code 1

    ELSE
    //DtaMgt.RemoveCrLf(FileBank."DTA File Folder" + FileBank."DTA Filename");
    GeneralMgt.RemoveCrLf(FileBank."DTA File Folder" + FileBank."DTA Filename", 'DTA', FALSE);

    // Add the following lines.
    IF ISSERVICETIER THEN
    RBMgt.DownloadToFile(ServerTempFilename,FileBank."DTA File Folder" + FileBank."DTA Filename");
    // The end of the new lines

    // Backup file
    IF FileBank."Backup Copy" THEN BEGIN
    FileBank.LOCKTABLE;
    FileBank."Last Backup No." := INCSTR(FileBank."Last Backup No.");
    FileBank.MODIFY;
    BackupFilename := FileBank."Backup Folder" + 'DTA' + FileBank."Last Backup No." + '.BAK';

    // Add the following lines.

    RBMgt.DownloadToFile(ServerTempFilename,BackupFilename)

    IF NOT COPY(FileBank."DTA File Folder" + FileBank."DTA Filename",BackupFilename) THEN
    MESSAGE(Text002 + Text003,FileBank."Bank Code");
    // The end of the new lines.

    END;

    Existing code 2

    //ERASE(FileBank."DTA File Folder" + FileBank."DTA Filename");

    //END;
    IF ISSERVICETIER THEN // Delete this line.
