Symptoms

When you save a new email message to the Drafts folder in online mode in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, this email message displays a sent time.

NoteThis issue occurs after you install the hotfix package that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 973404.

To resolve this problem, install the following hotfix package:
983316 Description of the Office Outlook 2007 hotfix package (Outlook-x-none.msp): June 29, 2010


Note After you install this hotfix package, the fix that is provided in KB 973404 is disabled. If you want to re-enable the fix, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click
    Run, type regedit in the
    Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
  3. Right-click OmitSearchKeyOnDrafts, and then click Modify.
  4. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
    Note If you set this registry entry to 1, the fix that is provided in KB 973404 is enabled and the fix that is provided in this article is disabled. If you set this registry entry to 0, the fix that is provided in this article is enabled and the fix that is provided in KB 973404 is disabled.
  5. Exit Registry Editor.
