Summary

This article describes the Microsoft Excel 2010 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated October 26, 2010.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • In Microsoft Office Excel 2010, you click a Form button or shape that has a macro, which deletes the worksheet that contains the macro. In this situation, the following issues may occur:

    • Office Excel 2010 crashes. To resolve this issue, apply the hotfix that is described in this Microsoft Knowledge Base article.

    • The button remains in the pressed status and is not redrawn until the macro running is finished. This behavior is by design.

  • You use the RealTimeData (RTD) function in Office Excel 2010. However, when a support cell in the RTD function is changed, Office Excel 2010 does not disconnect from the previous topic.

  • You try to filter a range of cells in which many cells contain more than 255 characters. You do this by using the custom filter dialog in Office Excel 2010. In this situation, Office Excel 2010 stops responding.

  • You open an HTML file that contains an integer value by using Office Excel 2010. However, a period in the integer value is replaced by a comma. This issue occurs when all the following conditions are true:

    • The integer value is between 1,000 and 999,999.

    • The user locale is set to a language in which the decimal separator is not a period but the date separator and thousands separator is a period. For example, the user local is set to German.

  • When a workbook is in data entry mode (Application.DataEntryMode = xlOn) in Office Excel 2010, ActiveX components do not respond to mouse messages. Therefore, the following actions or events do not work:

    • Actions that are performed by ActiveX components.

    • Events that are raised by ActiveX to run macros.

  • When you change a range of cells through the object model by using the Range.Value attribute or the Range.Formula attribute, the formatting of the cells does not update correctly.
