INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • You cannot load a certain Excel OLE object in Microsoft Excel 2010. This issue occurs when the Excel OLE object was saved in an Excel version earlier than Excel 2010.

Note Typically, this problem occurs when you try to enable OLE embedding. Additionally, a generic error message is displayed.

  • Office 2010 does not support certain certificates in a Windows 7 or in a Windows Vista environment. Specifically, these unsupported certificates use private keys that are stored by a third-party cryptographic service provider (CSP). Therefore, an Office 2010 document cannot be signed by using a Cryptographic API (CAPI).

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You access a Microsoft Word 2010 document that is located in a network share.

    • The computer goes into standby.

    • You resume your work and go out of standby.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Word cannot establish a network connection with this document after the system resumed from suspend mode. Save the document into a different file to keep any changes.

Additionally, you cannot save and update the document back to the network share when the network location is available.
