A Lync Online user in domain A cannot join a Live Meeting conference hosted in an OCS 2007 R2 pool in domain B when the two domains are not federated


Consider the following scenario:
  • You are a Microsoft Lync Online user who is homed in domain A. 
  • Another user is homed in an Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 R2 pool in domain B. The user creates a Live Meeting conference.
    Note Domain A is not federated with domain B.
  • You try to join the Live Meeting conference.
In this scenario, you cannot join the meeting. However, you receive an authentication prompt repeatedly, even after you provide your credentials. Additionally, you receive the following error message after you have provided your credentials three times:

The information you entered was not recognized, or you do not have permission to join the meeting. Check the information, and then try again.


To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
