The spelling checker does not work correctly in OWA when an S/MIME control is used and when SSL Offloading is enabled in Exchange Server 2007

Applies to: Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3, Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise Edition, Exchange Server 2007 Standard Edition
Consider the following scenario:
You enable SSL Offloading in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 environment.
You configure Outlook Web Access (OWA) by using the S/MIME control.
You log on your account by using OWA, and then you create a new email message.
In this scenario, you experience one or more of the following issues.
Misspelled words are not flagged by the spelling checker. Additionally, you receive a "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely" security warning message.
Note Nothing happens when you click the Yes or the No button.
The Copy, Cut and Paste commands are dimmed when you right-click in the email message body. However, the keyboard shortcuts for these commands function as normal.
You cannot embed images in the email message body. After you send an email message that has a pasted image, the image is missing when the email message is received. Additionally, the image is also missing in the email message that is stored in the Sent Items folder.
This issue occurs because S/MIME only treats the HTTPS protocol as the valid protocol. However, when SSL offloading is enabled, incoming traffic is transferred by using the HTTP protocol.
To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
2509911 Description of Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
To work around this issue, disable SSL offloading or uninstall the S/MIME control.
