Office 365 users experience a delay when they receive mail from connected accounts in Outlook Web App

Applies to: Exchange Online

Microsoft Office 365 users who set up one or more connected email accounts in Outlook Web App report that they experience a delay when they receive email messages from the connected accounts.

Set up the connected account to forward messages to the Microsoft Exchange Online account. By doing this, messages will be received in near real-time.

Exchange Online synchronizes connected accounts every hour. This means that messages from a connected account are downloaded to Outlook Web App every hour. Currently, there's no method to change the synchronization interval for connected accounts.

The Connected Accounts feature in Outlook Web App lets users connect up to five other accounts, such as, Gmail, and Yahoo! Mail accounts. This lets users send, receive, and read mail from the accounts in one place. For more information, see Connected Accounts.
