Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) fixes in one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security updates that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) update release.
Consider the following scenario:
- You create a Data Flow Task in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Integration Services (SSIS 2008 R2).
- You use a Flat File source or a Flat File destination in the Data Flow Task.
- In Flat File Connection Manager, you set the format of the flat file to Delimited.
- You use multiple characters as the column delimiter in Flat File Connection Manager.
[Flat File Source] Error: Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "columnname" returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or more characters had no match in the target code page."Note This issue also occurs in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration Services (SSIS 2008) and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS 2005). However, this hotfix is only for SSIS 2008 R2.
