Description of the Outlook 2007 hotfix package (Outlook-x-none.msp): October 30, 2012

Applies to: Microsoft Office Outlook 2007

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 hotfix package that is dated October 30, 2012.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you try to rename a subfolder in a shared mailbox in Outlook 2007 in cached mode, the folder name reverts to its original name when you restart Outlook.
  • When you try to change the default form for posting to a cached shared folder in Outlook 2007, the default form setting reverts to its original setting the next time that the folder syncs with the server.
  • Users can see your private meetings or appointments unexpectedly from your shared calendar under the To-do Bar by using the overlay mode in Outlook 2007.
  • Assume that your Inbox folder contains many email messages that have various categories assigned in Outlook 2007. When you use an Outlook object model to create a table object that contains the Categories column, a private byte memory leak in Outlook occurs.
  • Assume that you enable the Autosave feature in Outlook 2007. You edit an Outlook item that has an email message attached. For example, you edit a task that has an email message attached. Additionally, you open the attached email message, click Forward to generate and compose a new email message. In this situation, Outlook 2007 crashes when the Autosave feature tries to save both the task and the email message.
  • Assume that you have a large size mailbox or a folder in Outlook 2007. You sync the mailbox or the folder, and then restart Outlook before the sync is completed. When you restart the sync later, the process starts from 0.
  • If the first day of the week is set to Monday in the calendar of Outlook 2007, the first week of the year is skipped in the week numbering for the year 2013.
  • Assume that you use a document library as the home page for a folder in Outlook 2007. The document library has the Managed Metadata column defined. In this situation, when you upload a document or an item to the Document Library by using Outlook, you receive the following script error message:
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Line: line number
    Char: character number
    Error: Invalid argument
    Code: code number
    URL: URL
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
  • Assume that Outlook 2007 is displayed in a right-to-left language, such as Arabic or Hebrew. You press the Ctrl key, and then right-click the Outlook icon in the notification area, and then click Connection Status. In this situation, the content is not displayed as expected in the Microsoft Exchange Connection Status dialog box.
