INTRODUCTION


An update that addresses the changes to daylight saving time (DST) in 2012 is available for Windows Server 2003 R2-based computers that are running Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA).

The update includes changes in the daylight saving time (DST) end date for America/New York in compliance with the 2012 adjustments. 

Update information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites

To apply this update, you must be running Windows Server 2003 R2. Additionally, you must have Utilities and Software Development Kit (SDK) for Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications installed. Installation instructions

To install this hotfix, follow these steps:
  1. Run the R2SUASDK-KB2711030-X86-ENU.exe or R2SUASDK-KB2711030-AMD64-ENU.exe file, depending on the platform that you are using.
  2. Select the Repair or reinstall option.
  3. On the next page, select the Repair option.
  4. A screen that resembles the following will open:


    Select the Browse option, and then locate and insert the path for the “setup.msi” file for SUA SDK. If you do not have this file available on the local computer, you can download it from the following Microsoft website and then and extract it locally:
  5. After the installation is complete, restart the computer.

You must restart the computer after you apply this update.
