Pressing space bar does not pause resume from hibernate on Windows 7

Applies to: Windows 7 UltimateWindows 7 EnterpriseWindows 7 Home Premium

Consider the following the scenario:

You have a Windows 7 UEFI machine, when you press the space bar during boot, the system does not pause resume from hibernate.  What happens instead is that resume continues and the system will boot to Windows 7.

Note that the option to pause resume is only present if the system has been set to display the legacy (Vista) boot interface.

This is a known limitation of Windows 7. The ability to pause resume from hibernation is not supported.

More Information

The Vista boot user experience may be present on an upgrade to Windows 7 or if your OEM has set this as the default behavior. If the standard Windows 7 boot experience is used on the system, the option to pause resume from hibernate will not be presented.
