This can be caused because of the following reasons.

Cause 1

You have enabled 32 Bit Application Mode for an Application Pool either for Existing website or for a custom website.

Cause 2

Exppw.dll is not present in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\OWA\Auth.

Cause 3

Exppw.dll is corrupted.

Solution 1

Open elevated command prompt.
Change the directory to C:\Inetpub\AdminScripts.
Run the following command without quotes "cscript adsutil.vbs set w3svc/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 0".

This will disable all 32 bit Application Pools.

If you have an application which needs 32 bit application pool you need to follow the blog:

Solution 2

If you have EXPPW.DLL in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\OWA\Auth, then follow the steps mentioned below.

Note : You can also copy the EXPPW.DLL from a working machine with same Service Pack level and paste it in the location C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\OWA\Auth
