Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You create an application that uses an Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML)-based control in Visual Studio 2012.

  • The XAML-based control is included in an assembly whose name contains a dot (.) symbol.

  • You run the application.

In this scenario, an XamlParseException exception is thrown.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, apply this hotfix. After you apply the hotfix, you need to rebuild the project or solution to resolve this issue.
