Update improves the ability of the SMB server to continue functioning after the IPv4 address changes in Windows Embedded Compact 7


This article describes an update that provides additional support for a Server Message Block (SMB) server.

This update fixes an issue in which access to an SMB share on a Windows Embedded Compact 7 device might be terminated for an SMB client after the IPv4 address of the device changes The changes to the IP address, for example, can include some of the following changes:
  • IP lease expires
  • The DHCP server is unavailable for a brief time when the device is booting.
