System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager SP1 cannot increase the number of CPU Cores during a P2V conversion

Symptoms

When using the P2V wizard in System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager SP1 to convert a physical machine into a virtual machine, there is no ability to increase the number of CPU cores (e.g. from 2 to 4 cores) for the virtual machine in the P2V wizard.
