This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX for the India (in) region.

INTRODUCTION

This article describes a country-specific update that is available for India service tax reverse charge functionalities in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1) with the India localization layer installed.

More Information

This update resolves the following issues for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1) with the India localization layer installed:

  • Assume that you create a journal that has a line for a vendor and multiple lines for different project categories. When you try to post the journal, you receive the following imbalance error message:

The transactions on voucher Voucher do not balance as per Date.

  • Assume that you create a journal that has a line for a vendor and multiple lines for projects or ledgers. If you do not attach the service tax to the vendor line, the withholding tax is calculated based on the line amount and the total sales tax amount. You expect the withholding tax to be calculated based on the line amount and the tax amount that is paid to the vendor.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create and post a vendor payment without attaching the service tax.

    • You create and post an invoice for the vendor that is attached the service tax.

In this situation, when you settle the two transactions in the Open transaction editing dialog box, the tax amount is not transferred from an interim payable account to a payable account. Therefore, the invoice settlement process works incorrectly.
