A new e-mail message does not appear in your Outlook Inbox when you receive an e-mail notification


When an E-mail Notification appears in the system tray that signals you that an incoming message has arrived and you click the E-mail Notification icon, there is no new message in your Inbox.


This behavior occurs because there may be a rule that is moving incoming messages to another folder in the Folder list or mailbox.

NOTE: If you click the E-mail Notification icon in the system tray, it takes you to the Inbox by design whether your new message is in the Inbox or in another folder.
