Consider the following scenario:
- You have a Windows 8-based computer that supports connected standby.
- An external USB optical drive is connected to the computer.
- You put the computer into hibernate mode.
This issue occurs because a request that is sent from the Cdrom.sys file is kept in a suspended state. Furthermore, the issue is caused by a CD-ROM call does not have a time-out setting.
To resolve this issue, install update rollup 2862768, or install the hotfix that is described in this article.
