Symptoms

Assume that you have a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based image running on a device. When you call the ScanDisk module (scandisk.cpp) to scan the disks on the device, an access violation may occur, and the image may crash.

Note The ScanDisk module is located in the following path:

%_WINCEROOT%\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\DRIVERS\FSD\FATUTIL\MAIN

Cause

This issue occurs because an array index boundary of a variable is checked after the ScanDisk module accesses the array.
