An update that includes the August 2013 cumulative time zone update is available for Windows Embedded CE 6.0


This article describes an update that includes the August 2013 cumulative time zone update for Windows Embedded CE 6.0. This update changes the time zone data to accommodate daylight saving time (DST) changes in several countries.

More Information

This update includes the following changes:

  • Libya Standard Time:
    DST starts on the last Friday of March at 02:00 and ends on the last Friday of October at 02:00. These new DST rules were introduced from 2013, and a new dedicated time zone was also added (UTC+1 Tripoli) (KB 2795259 ).
  • Israel Standard Time:
    DST starts on the Friday before the last Sunday of March and ends on the last Sunday of October at 02:00. This new DST rule is applicable from 2013 to 2023.
  • Pacific S.A. Standard Time:
    DST ends on April 27, 2013 and starts on September 7, 2013. This change is for 2013 only (KB 2826774 ).
  • Paraguay Standard Time:
    DST ends on March 23, 2013. This change incorporates the shortened DST rules for Paraguay in 2013 (KB 2828890 ).
  • Morocco Standard Time:
    The change in the August DST cumulative update will account only for History Correction after the DST 2013 Ramadan fix-it solution that was shipped in June 2013 (KB 2739151 ).

Software update information

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Monthly Update (August 2013). In the "File information" section, the package file name contains the product version, the date, the Microsoft Knowledge Base article number, and the processor type. The package file name format is as follows:

Product version-yymmdd-kbnnnnnn-processor type

For example, Wincepb60-110128-kb2492159-armv4i.msi is the ARMV4i Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Platform Builder fix that is documented in Knowledge Base article 2492159 and that is contained in the January 2011 monthly update.

This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:
  • On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
