Symptoms


Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2), or Windows Server 2008 SP2.
  • You have Windows Management Framework 3.0 installed on this computer.
  • You have Windows PowerShell Remoting enabled on this computer to enable execution of commands from a remote computer.
  • You run the Start-Process cmdlet together with the -Wait parameter on this computer remotely from another computer.

In this scenario, the Start-Process cmdlet ignores the -Wait parameter.

Resolution


To resolve this problem, apply this hotfix on the computer that has Windows Management Framework 3.0 installed.
