- You have Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1-based computers that are running in a domain environment.
- You configure the Folder Redirection Group Policy setting for a folder that is available for redirection. For example, you configure the Folder Redirection Group Policy setting for the AppData folder. Then, the offline file synchronization is enabled by default.
Note The AppData folder is a user-specific folder. For example, the folder might be redirected to the following path:\\server\users\user1\AppData
- You configure the following Group Policy setting to apply to the same "\\server\users\user1\AppData" path: User Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\User Profiles\Network directories to sync at Logon/Logoff time only
