FIX: Query scope assignment works incorrectly after you run a ClearCache command in SSAS

This hotfix also applies to Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Analysis Services (SSAS 2014).

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You define a SCOPE statement, and you give an assignment to the SCOPE statement in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS 2012), SSAS 2008 R2, or SSAS 2014.
  • You run a ClearCache command to clear caches.
  • You run a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query.
In this scenario, the assignment is deleted, and a NULL value is returned for the assignment.

Resolution

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2014

Cumulative Update 10 for SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2

Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2012 SP1
