Property ID value is overwritten when you add custom Metabase properties to the IIS settings schema

Symptoms


When you add custom metabase properties to the Internet Information Services (IIS) settings schema, the assigned Property ID value is overwritten. This problem occurs the next time that the IISADMIN Service gets restarted and the new custom metabase property is set.

Resolution

To resolve this issue in Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2, install update rollup 2955164, or install the hotfix that is described in this article. Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must be running one of the following operating systems:

  • Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows 8
  • Windows Server 2012
  • Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 that has update 2919355 installed.

Restart requirement

You must stop and then restart the IISADMIN service after you apply this hotfix. To do this, type the following commands at an elevated command prompt, and then press Enter after each command:
net stop IISADMIN

net start IISADMIN
