Hotfix KB2899585 for SharePoint Foundation 2010 December 9, 2014 (Wss-x-none.msp; Wssmui-.msp)

Applies to: Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 hotfix package that is dated December 9, 2014. Click the "Hotfix Download Available" button to get the hotfix.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you set the default value for a Date and Time column as the current date in a SharePoint 2010 custom list. When you create a new item to the list during 23:00 to 00:00, the date for this column is set as the next day.
  • Assume that you set an alert on a SharePoint 2010 Announcements list. When an alert email is triggered by an Announcements list item that contains many lines of content, the text in the mail body is formatted as strikethrough.

Note After you install the hotfix package, you have to run the "stsadm –o updatealerttemplates" command to have the hotfix take effect.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You enable the incoming email feature for a SharePoint 2010-based server.
    • You enable incoming email on multiple site collections that contain document libraries.
    • You apply a No Access lock to one site collection.
    • You send an email message to a document library in another site collection that has no locks on it.
In this scenario, the email cannot be delivered to the document library.

  • When you try to open a document by using an Office 2013 application from a SharePoint 2010 site in Chrome, you may receive the following error message:
The document could not be opened for editing. A Microsoft SHAREPOINT Foundation compatible application could not be found to edit the document.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You browse to a SharePoint 2010 site, and change your regional settings to a locale that differs from the default locale of the site.
    • You trigger a SharePoint 2010 list workflow that sets the value of a Date and Time column by using an initiation form parameter.
In this scenario, the value of the Date and Time column differs from the value of the initiation form parameter because it uses the time zone of the site instead of yours.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In a SharePoint 2010 list, you create a calculated column that looks up values from another column.
    • You create a view that groups the list items by the calculated column.
    • You add a new list item whose given column contains numbers and an underscore character "_".
    • You expand the group.
In this scenario, you may receive an error message.

  • After you run a content deployment job on a SharePoint 2010 server, the thumbnail images are duplicated.
