Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you start the User Profile Synchronization service on a SharePoint 2010 site collection. When a thumbnail for a profile picture is missing, the profile synchronization may fail because of a stopped-server error.
  • When you try to open a .pdf file from a search result on a SharePoint 2010 site, the .pdf file is opened in Adobe Reader instead of in the browser.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You enable the Document Sets and In Place Records Management site collection features on a SharePoint 2010 site.
    • You add the Document Set content type to a SharePoint document library.
    • You upload many documents to the document library, and the total number of the documents exceeds the list view threshold.
    • You declare more than 50% of the document items as records.
    • You add a new document set that contains no document to the document library.
    • You edit or delete the document set.
In this scenario, you may receive the following error message:
The server has encountered the following error(s):
    A Test DocSet
Folder cannot be deleted because it contains items which are either on hold or declared as records.
  • Improves the integration of SharePoint 2010 and OneDrive for Business by letting administrators be able to add OneDrive for Business links on a SharePoint 2010 installation.
