You cannot use CMP to manage a mailbox that is moved to Exchange Server 2013 in Office 365 dedicated/ITAR


In Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 in the Microsoft Office 365 dedicated or Microsoft Office 365 ITAR environment, you experience the following issues:
  • After you use the Customer Management Portal (CMP) to change a mailbox that was moved to Exchange Server 2013, you receive one of the following error messages:


    Cannot set the security descriptor of mailbox MailboxName in Exchange mailbox database DatabaseName.
  • You cannot find a mailbox in CMP.


These issues occur because you cannot use CMP to change mailbox properties after the mailbox is moved to Exchange Server 2013.


To resolve these issues, use the Exchange Admin Center (EAC) to manage mailboxes. CMP is a custom tool for mailbox management in Microsoft Exchange Server2010.
