FIX: Access violation occurs when you delete table rows that have delete cascade and query notifications in SQL Server 2008 R2

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 installed.
  • You register query notification with join on the table.
  • You delete rows from the tables.
In this scenario, an access violation occurs.


The issue occurs because of a defect in SQL Server 2008 R2.


The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2
