Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have private clouds in Microsoft System Center 2012 R2.

  • You create a Microsoft Azure Site Recovery vault.

  • You register a System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) that is running on Windows Server 2012 R2 by using the vault. Additionally, the SCVMM server manages a cloud that has a Hyper-V cluster that is configured by using a static IP address.

  • You configure the private cloud to replicate to Microsoft Azure.

In the scenario, you receive the following error message:

The Hyper-V Replica Cluster Broker is not installed for Cluster.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install update rollup 2962409. After you install the update, the presence of Hyper-V Replica Broker for replication to Azure is optional. When Site Recovery is configured, the tasks that are performed by Hyper-V Replica Broker are taken over by the Site Recovery and SCVMM.
