CPrepSrv.exe process crashes or Failover Cluster Manager freezes when you validate storage in Windows Server 2012 R2

Symptoms


This issue occurs when you do a storage validation test for a Windows Server 2012 R2 failover cluster and the layout information of one disk cannot be obtained through an I/O operation.

Resolution
