PowerShell 3.0 fails to import signed localized data file on Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2

Symptoms


When you use the Import-LocalizedData command in Windows PowerShell 3.0 to import a signed localized data file on a computer that is running Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2, the imported localized data may be shorter than expected, or it may fail to import.

Resolution


To resolve this issue, install update 2967917, or install the hotfix that is described in the "Hotfix information" section in this article.

To apply this update, you must first install update 2919355 on Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2.
