Consider the following scenario:
- You run Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) on a Windows Server 2012 R2-based server by using an Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) server for a federation-based trust.
- You upgrade the AD RMS authentication from using the AD FS agent to using Windows Identity Foundation (WIF) on the server.
- An RMS client computer uses WIF to send a request together with a whr parameter to the AD RMS server.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
