Graphs and lines are not printed correctly when you use a PCL 6 version 3 driver in Windows

Symptoms


Consider the following scenario:

  • You install a PCL6 version 3 printer driver on a computer that is running Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
  • You try to print a chart in a Microsoft Excel Worksheet from the PCL6 version 3 driver-based printer. Or, You try to print a PDF file or other graphic document to a large format paper size.
In this scenario, additional lines may be printed, or existing lines may be missing or printed incorrectly.

How to obtain this update or hotfix


To resolve this issue, we have released hotfixes for Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008 R2, and we have released updates for Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows Server 2012.

Before you install this hotfix, check the prerequisite of the hotfix.

The update rollup fixes many other issues in addition to the issue that the hotfix fixes. We recommend that you use the update rollup. The update rollup is larger than the hotfix. Therefore, the update rollup takes longer to download.

Prerequisites
