You cannot access network shares after the computer restarts in Windows 8.1 or Windows 7

Applies to: Windows Server 2012 R2 DatacenterWindows Server 2012 R2 StandardWindows Server 2012 R2 Essentials

Symptoms

Assume that you have a Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) driver that starts automatically as a system driver on a Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1-based computer. After you restart the computer, you cannot access network shares on another computer.

Cause

This issue occurs because a race condition occurs. Therefore, the WFP driver disrupts the network share access as the computer restarts.
