Symptoms

Assume that you have a table that contains a column in which some row or rows contain a dash character "-" in Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1). When you execute a SELECT query that contains an ORDER BY statement on the column, the returned result is not in an expected order and the returned number of rows is also incorrect.

Resolution

The hotfix that resolves this problem is included in an on-demand hotfix update package for SQL Server Compact 4.0 Service Pack 1.
