Meeting times incorrect for users in Russia that use Outlook for Mac

Symptoms

In Outlook 2016 for Mac or Outlook for Mac 2011, meetings and appointments in the calendar may appear one or several hours off after October 26, 2014 for users in Russia.

Cause

Russia changed its existing time zones on October 26th, 2014. See this Microsoft TechNet article for more information about the changes.

Resolution

To resolve this issue for Outlook 2016 for Mac, install the Outlook for Mac for Office 365 – March 2015 Update at a minimum, or install the latest update for Outlook 2016 for Mac. To install the latest update for Outlook 2016 for Mac, start Outlook, and then click Check for Updates on the Help menu.

Workaround

If you cannot install the update that is mentioned in the "Resolution" section to resolve this issue, you can work around the issue by using the following option:

In Outlook for Mac 2011, set your time zone to one that matches the new time zone according to the Microsoft TechNet article as of October 26, 2014. For example, if you previously used the (UTC+03:00) Kaliningrad, Minsk time zone, switch to one of the (UTC+02:00) time zones.
