Symptoms


Consider the following scenario:

  • You are using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).

  • You run a query on the partitions that contain distinct count measures.

  • You cancel the execution of this query.

In this scenario, an access violation may occur, and a mini dump file is generated at the same time.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 RTM

Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2016

Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2014 SP2

Cumulative Update 11 for SQL Server 2014 SP1

Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2014

Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2012 SP2

Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2012 SP3

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. Check out the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
