Introduction
This article describes an issue in which Windows Media Player stops responding when you play a .wma file in Windows Embedded Compact 7. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, you must install all previously issued updates for this product.
Symptoms
Assume that you copy a .wma file to the root folder on a Windows Embedded Compact 7 device. When you play the file in Windows Media Player, and then you click Save, the player stops responding and you have to restart the device to recover the application.

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows Embedded Compact 7 Monthly Update (March 2015).

Prerequisites
This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product are also installed.
Restart requirement
After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.

On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
Update replacement information
This update does not replace any other updates.

The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time.
