Consider the following scenario:
- You set a Microsoft SQL Server 2014 database as the data source of a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS) database.
- You enable Distinct Counts by setting the value of the OLAP\ProcessPlan\EnableRolapDistinctCountOnDataSource property to 1 in the Msmdsrv.ini file of the SSAS instance.
- You restart the SSAS instance, and reprocess the SSAS database.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
