FIX: ROLAP Distinct Count on data source is not started when it is running from SSAS 2012 to back-end SQL Server 2014

Consider the following scenario:
  • You set a Microsoft SQL Server 2014 database as the data source of a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS) database.
  • You enable Distinct Counts by setting the value of the OLAP\ProcessPlan\EnableRolapDistinctCountOnDataSource property to 1 in the Msmdsrv.ini file of the SSAS instance.
  • You restart the SSAS instance, and reprocess the SSAS database.
In this scenario, the query does not work correctly.

Cumulative Update information

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Recommendation: Install the latest cumulative update for SQL Server
