After you migrate users from Exchange on-premises to Exchange Server 2013 in Microsoft Office 365 Dedicated, folders that were added to the Favorites before the migration are no longer displayed in Outlook. However, the Favorites are still visible in Outlook Web App (OWA).
When a mailbox is migrated, the store entry ID changes. However, the folder mapping is still stored in the profile. Opening the account in the old Outlook profile works fine. However, if a new Outlook profile is created, the store entry ID that's saved in the Favorites doesn't match the new store entry ID. Therefore, the Favorites folder is not displayed as expected.
Outlook 2013This issue is fixed in Outlook 2013. The Outlook 2013 fix works when a user follows these steps:
- Use the existing Outlook 2013 profile to access the mailbox at least one time after your mailbox is migrated from the on-premises Exchange to Office 365. Outlook 2013 should automatically detect the mismatch and then update the store entry IDs.
- You can now create a new Outlook 2013 profile without losing your Favorites.
Outlook 2010There is no fix for Outlook 2010. After the migration, Outlook 2010 users have to add the folders back to their Favorites.
