Introduction
This article describes an issue in which text in the console for cmd.exe is barely readable after you install the October 2015 update for Windows Embedded Compact 7. An update is available to fix this issue. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must also be installed.
Symptoms
You have a device that has the October 2015 update installed in Windows Embedded Compact 7. You create a retail image that includes the console window (SYSGEN_CONSOLE). When you start the image and then open cmd.exe, text in the console for cmd.exe is barely readable. In particular, the "t" character is barely readable.

This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.
Restart requirement
After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.

On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You don't have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
Update replacement information
This update doesn't replace any other updates.
