This article describes an issue that occurs when a client computer connects to the print queue and tries to print a file in Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2012. You can fix this issue by using the update in this article. Before you install this update, see the Prerequisites section.
A client computer that's running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 can't print and receives an "Access Denied" error message when the client tries to print against a print server that's running Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2. This issue occurs if the Creator Owner principal's Manage Documents permission for the print queue is removed.
