System message 6901 when you scrap lot tracked item for Work Order multiple times


Consider the following scenario in Work Order in Microsoft Dynamics SL:

  • Open Work Order Material Transfer/Returns (12.401.00)
  • Select a Work Order and for Transfer Type set to To Scrap. Process the return.
  • Select this same Work Order and for Transfer Type set to To Scrap. Process the return. You receive this message:
  • System Message 6901: Another process has updated the LotSerial table.  The
                         program must be terminated.
  • An event log is also created that states:
  • System Message 5: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Cannot
                      insert duplicate key row in object 'dbo.WOLotSerT' with unique
                      index 'WOLotSerT1'. The duplicate key value is ()
