Introduction

Portal capabilities version 8.1.0.325 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM is now available. This article describes the enhancements that were included in this update, as well as how to obtain the updated solutions. For a full list of all portal updates released to date and their corresponding KB articles, please reference KB #3181191.

Upgrade to portal capabilities version 8.1.0.325 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM

This release includes an updated portal host and updated solution packages. If you are deploying a new portal after this update is available, the deployment will automatically include all of the enhancements within this update.


However, if you have deployed a portal prior to this update, you must upgrade the portal solutions within Dynamics CRM to take advantage of some or all of the included enhancements. For instructions on how to upgrade the portal solutions, please refer to this KB article.


Issues that are resolved in portal capabilities version 8.1.0.325 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Version 8.1.0.325 resolves the following issues:

  • Aesthetic and usability changes to the navigation bar used in the default theme

  • Aesthetic and usability changes to the poll section used in the default theme

  • An error is encountered when attempting to view Feedback Comments on the portal when comments were created by a portal user who does not have an Email Address1 specified

  • An intermittent error can occur when accessing forums within the portal

  • An intermittent error can occur when accessing the "Contact Us" form

  • At specific browser resolutions, both the standard header and mobile header will be displayed at the same time

  • Customer Portal: When two or more knowledge base articles are added to the same category, they are rendered incorrectly

  • Partner Portal: Partner contacts created by the partner administrator are present in "Customer Contacts" and "Partner Contacts" Entity Lists within the portal

  • Partner Portal: Support hyperlink should not be visible to non-partner users as only partners have helpdesk privileges

  • Partner Portal: The default theme featuers rounded fields rather than straight/boxed fields

  • Partner Portal: The spacing on certain pages between headers, text, and footers is inconsistent

  • Some solutions deployed with the installation of a portal do not contain descriptions

  • The portal can return a runtime error during authentication under some conditions

  • The portal contact record created for the chosen administrator has blank first name, last name, and email address fields

  • The System Administrator contact record is not associated with the Administrators Web Role upon initial portal creation

  • The System Administrator contact record is not created upon initial portal creation

  • Visual issues and misalignments within the portal comment form in Interactive Service Hub

  • When both portals are deployed in the same tenant, feedback and ratings cannot be enabled for Knowledge Base articles in Customer Portal without enabling them in Community Portal

  • When searching a portal, results can be returned with HTML content and URL values rather than text from the page
